About us hivsouthernafrica.info is a collaborative initiative of local and international partners working on HIV and AIDS in the southern Africa region. UNAIDS reports that for every two starting HIV treatment, another five people are newly infected with HIV. The southern African region urgently needs to ‘turn off the tap' of new infections - to prevent HIV - for a sustainable future. The region is set to make a difference as community leaders, health educators, health workers and policy makers alike are committing themselves to accelerating HIV prevention. With over 25 years experience in HIV prevention and treatment, valuable knowledge exists within the southern African region, which needs to be shared. Vision The initiative aims to provide a neutral platform to share and access local, region specific information on initiatives, activities and partners working to achieve local solutions to the HIV and AIDS epidemic.
