National Partnership Platforms (NPP) are information, dialogue and advocacy platforms bringing together country level civil society stakeholders to more effectively respond to AIDS, TB and broader health. The platform is nationally driven and owned.
The NPP aims to:
- Increase the number of people at national and regional level involved in popular discussion of HIV and AIDS and TB
- Promote advocacy, partnerships and networking at local, provincial and national levels
- Improve the quality of and access to information
- Increase accountability and transparency in decision-making related to HIV/AIDS and TB at local, provincial and national levels
- Disseminate relevant information, education and communication (IEC) resources
- Contribute to decreasing stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS and other marginalised groups at all levels.
Activities
NPP’s are already spearheading information communication exchange and advocacy around HIV and TB through a number of activities and tools. These include:
- National electronic discussion forums
- Local Key Correspondent (KC) Team (country-based writers documenting local experiences of HIV and TB)
- Community Discussion forums
- Media outreach
- Focused campaigns
- Skills and capacity building workshops
